Beloved gospel artist Betty Bayo was laid to rest today in Kiambu County, where family, friends, fellow musicians, and fans gathered to honour her life and ministry.
The day began with a solemn memorial service at Christian Foundation Fellowship (CFF) Church along Kiambu Road, a place she worshipped and served faithfully for years. Hundreds attended the service, offering prayers, singing her favourite hymns, and reflecting on the inspiration she brought to Kenya’s gospel scene.
A larger public tribute was later held at Ndumberi Stadium, where artistes and pastors shared moving testimonies about Bayo’s humility, generosity, and unwavering commitment to her calling. The stadium fell silent as her children, relatives, and close friends described her as a loving mother, a dedicated minister, and a woman who remained strong even in her private battle with illness.
Betty was finally laid to rest at her home in Mugumo Estate, Kiambu Road, in a private family burial.
The late singer’s family had earlier appealed for support in meeting funeral expenses, with many Kenyans — including public figures and fellow musicians — contributing to honour her memory. Messages of comfort flooded social media, celebrating her music, her warmth, and the lives she touched.
Betty Bayo passed away on November 10, 2025 after a short illness. She leaves behind two children and a legacy that will continue through her songs, ministry, and the countless people she inspired.
