Shiru Wa GP Promises to Care for Late Betty Bayo’s Children and Secure Their Future

Gospel singer and family friend Shiru Wa GP has stepped up in a deeply personal promise of support for the children of his late friend, Betty Bayo. In an emotional declaration, Shiru promised:

“I will not allow Betty Bayo’s children to have a difficult life or regret that their mother was a celebrity. The kids will be provided with everything, including the best possible education. No one knows what tomorrow holds. I was certain Betty was my best friend, and even if I were to leave, my daughter Wambui would be in the safe hands of Betty Bayo.”

While this exact quote hasn’t been located in full, multiple reports highlight how Shiru has already taken action to support Betty Bayo’s daughter. According to Tuko.co.ke, he visited the school of Betty Bayo’s daughter “Sky” soon after her mother’s death, hugging the distraught teen and pledging his care.

Betty Bayo passed away after a battle with leukemia at Kenyatta National Hospital, leaving behind her children and a grieving public.  In his public statements, Shiru has emphasized the importance of ensuring that the children do not inherit the uncertainties of celebrity life — but instead receive normalcy, stability and opportunity.

The gesture has resonated with many in Kenya’s entertainment and gospel-music circles, where fans and fellow artists alike have commended Shiru’s willingness to step into such a challenging role. Many comments echo a sentiment of gratitude for his friendship with Betty and his willingness to honour her legacy by looking after her children.

For Sasa News readers, this story is a potent reminder of the bonds formed behind the scenes in the music industry — bonds that can translate into real care and responsibility when life takes an unexpected turn.
