Oga Obinna Wins Ksh 6.1 Million in Defamation Case Against Radio Jambo

Kenyan comedian and media personality Oga Obinna has won a major court battle against Radio Jambo, receiving Ksh 6.1 million in damages for defamation.

The court ruled in favor of Obinna after finding that comments made on the radio station had tarnished his image and caused reputational harm. The former Kiss FM presenter filed the lawsuit claiming that the statements were false and negatively affected his career and brand partnerships.

Speaking after the ruling, Obinna expressed gratitude for the judgment, describing it as a win for truth, justice, and responsible journalism in Kenya.

“I’m happy that justice has been served. This case shows that freedom of speech must come with responsibility,” Obinna said.



The court ordered Radio Jambo to compensate the entertainer with Ksh 6.1 million for damages and legal costs. The decision sends a strong message about media accountability and the importance of ethical reporting in Kenya’s entertainment industry.
